As of now, the newest South Park video game is officially free to play, but it will only be available for a limited time. The promotion is also limited to users on Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S with a Game Pass subscription.
For this weekend’s Free Play Days, South Park: Snow Day is one of two games available to play for free through the weekend. It is joined by the sports game Football Manager Console 26 . They’ll be made unavailable once the clock strikes midnight on Monday, Apr. 20, so the clock is ticking to check it out. Downloading the game to play will require users subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential. They can be found on the Xbox Store in the Free Play Days collection.
South Park: Snow Day Switches Up Genres
South Park: Snow Day is the latest modern game made for the franchise, following the turn-based RPGs South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured But Whole . The new game is more focused on co-op action, following the kids of South Park as they engage in a snow-day fantasy war. It is the first fully 3D South Park game of the modern era, designed with a multiplayer experience in mind with encouragement for replayable runs. There’s a heavier focus on roguelike elements as an action game with repeatable missions, as opposed to one big narrative, and it includes up to 4-player co-op gameplay.
The official description for South Park: Snow Day reads, “Join Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny, in three-dimensional glory, to celebrate the most magical day in any young child’s life – a snow day! A massive blizzard has thrown the town into chaos and, more importantly, canceled school. Play with up to three friends, use matchmaking, or solo the game with ally bots and battle through the snow-piled town of South Park. Engage in frenetic, action-packed combat against warring factions in an all-new story where you make the rules. The Games Can Be Purchased at Discounted Pricing
While both of the games available in the Free Play Days collection will no longer be free on Apr. 20, they’ll be offered for purchase at discounted prices for players wanting to keep the fun going. South Park: Snow Day is on sale at $11.99, down from its original retail price of $29.99, marking a savings of 60%. Football Manager Console 26 is also discounted to $35.99, down from $59.99.
Before time runs out, players can download South Park: Snow Day and Football Manager Console 26 from the Free Play Days collection on the Xbox Store until Apr. 20.
